About Charlie Kimble


Charlie Kimble, M.Ed., MSW, LSW studied at Rutgers University and earned a Master of Education degree in Counseling Psychology and a Master's degree in Social Work. He is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of New Jersey. Before providing counseling to clients at Stress Management Counseling Center, LLC, Charlie had a long career as an executive and consultant in Information Technology working for major telecommunications companies. Charlie's psychology training focused on treating addiction, completing an Addiction Counselor Training Certification program, including training in the treatment of Gambling addiction. Underlying Charlie's therapeutic approach is a focus on cognitive therapies (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- ACT). He is also trained in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy) utilizing attachment theory, including the use of Mindfulness and many other strategies to assist clients in reducing emotional distress, identify and manage problem thinking, and focus on personal strengths to reach their desired goals. Charlie's areas of expertise include: substance use, adjustment, anxiety, depression, grief, relationships (for couples therapy, he employs the Gottman method), corporate coaching, anger, gambling addiction, and self-esteem.  He is working toward fulfilling the experience requirement of the NJ State licensure and is supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
